Misconceptions Extra - Sarah Numan, Babyloss NZ

Sarah is the General Manager of the registered charity Baby Loss New Zealand and is one of two principal casters – chairperson Josie Apelu is the other principal caster.

Baby Loss NZ was set up in April 2008 to support parents and their families who have experienced the death of a baby during pregnancy, at birth or in infancy and they also support hospitals, educating staff on the experience of baby loss and providing support items for them to give to parents.

Baby Loss NZ’s main service is the Active Parenting & Memory Making Service. Working directly with families they create tangible memories like hand- and foot castings, hand- and foot prints and active parenting memories.

Even for babies under twelve weeks there are still memories to be made which could help parents deal with feelings of grief.

Baby Loss NZ relies on volunteers and on on donations to keep their free services going. If you can help head over to the Baby Loss NZ Facebook page or go to: givealittle.co.nz/org/babylossnz
